Get your kicks on Route 66!
There are so many beautiful and exciting places to see in Arizona, and while I haven't lived there long I have been able to road trip to a few new places. A few years ago while on vacation in AZ we spent some time visiting Prescott, you can read a post on that
here. Since we made the move from WA to AZ a few months ago there were a couple of places that we had to see, specifically the Grand Canyon.
There's a cute little town just outside of the Grand Canyon and called Williams. It's right on Route 66! The downtown, or main street, is lined with historic buildings full of character. We mainly stopped here since we were traveling with the puppies, but we ended up having a good time wandering the small town and snapping pictures of the vintage charm.
We stopped in here for lunch- it's a 1950's diner style cafe with classic burgers and shakes. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, but in all honesty I've had better burgers.
The Canyon itself was breath taking. There are several viewing points and walking trails that you can wander to see the Canyon from different perspectives. I feel really fortunate to have this wonder right in my backyard (the drive was about 4 hours long) since people travel to see this from all over the world.
Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon or stopped through Williams?
